10 Jun 2007 · Ahh Croatia, the place to be :)

During our week cruising around the islands of Croatia, we did lots of relaxing – probably TOO much! Sleeping in late (always missing breakfast…hehehe), then laying on the top deck of our boat, sunbaking (didn’t get burnt!), reading books (in love with Patricia Cornwell), listening to music, and reading trashy magazines.

At night we always docked at a town. Some places were fun, drinking cocktails on top of an old castle tower, hanging out with the chickies from London (LOUD Kiwis & Aussies!) bitching about the Mu Mu’s on the other boat – talk about skanky!

The week went by much too quickly! Couldn’t believe how 7 days just rushed by.

I’d say my favourite place was Dubrovnik (of course). You can walk on top of the city walls, which run for 2kms! You can see areas that have been patched up since the war. And there are haunting reminders where large chunks the size of bullet holes or shrapnel still remain in the walls of buildings. We also jumped off the rocks at the base of the walls, into the ocean! At night we went to an awesome mexican restaurant, then headed into town and got quite smashed on viagras! Haha ended up in an interesting club, where the girls from our boat had fun with the poles – GO LAURA! Woo!

We visited little islands, where there was nothing but 2 restaurants, a small beach and our own imaginations to keep us interested!

Our last night in a port , was spent in Hvar where Spides and I climbed a hill to this great fortress that overlooked the island and the water. Also known for its nudest beaches….AHEM!

Once we arrived back in Split, we headed to the nightclub once again (this time I didnt stand in front of the speakers and deafen myself!) and had a great time with the cheap cocktails and saying goodbye to everyone!

Definitely a trip worth doing: www.sail-croatia.com
