Blog attempt no. 2…

Well finally arrived 2 weeks ago in London Town. Loving it here – apart from the crazy weather. Its still winter here…....yeah. The sun finally came out on Saturday, but went behind a cloud today and isn’t meant to appear until the 15th….Bleewdy ‘ell! Haha

Anyways, so far just been getting myself accustomed to the area I’m living in, finding the shops, supermarket, cooking for myself (yeah I know…) AND trying to find a job (unsuccessfully).

Today I visited the British Museum with Kate Rayson and her friend Lauren. Had been there before, but I’d forgotten everything! Weird! Saw some awesome dried out mummies and lots more Roman stuff. Hmmm should probably leave museums alone for awhile – seen too many in the last few months! Afterwards headed down Oxford St, got annoyed at the crowds, and caught the bus home.

I’m finally settled in my room. Bek and her sis Jess headed off on their 2 month driving trip last Sunday. Am really enjoying living at T Square. My housemates Ali, Kate, Kristy and Richelle (who only moved in on Friday!) are just awesome. It’s like a girly slumber party in here everynight, except with copious amounts of wine….mmmm whhhhiiiinnnneee!

A few days after arriving, I decided to walk into town, which is about 10kms. Took about 3hrs, though I was popping in and out of shops along the way. Walked through S’Bush, Notting Hill and Kensington. Went through Kensington gardens, and past the palace. Headed through Hyde Park and really soaked up the atmosphere…which was full of spitting rain and threatening clouds, but after all it WAS London ;)

Ended up on Oxford St – much fav place to shop! – and found Primark, which is a really massive department store that sells cheap az clothes but are quite nice!! Picked up a few bargins and some homewares, and started feeling more at home. If you know me, then you know the mood that a good bargin shop puts me in ;) Lol

On my first weekend, I headed down to the Walkabout (Australian pub!) at Shoo Bush (Shepherds Bush) and caught up with Emma G and watched the rugby, drinking beer at 11am….HA! We didn’t stop all day long, going on a bit of a pub crawl into Fulham and Putney.

Ended up at The Slug (& Lettuce – another Aussie/Kiwi haunt) and tasted my 1st Snakebite, which is a potent drink made of cider, lager and cranberry juice to hide the hidious taste – but it still tastes foul! Hahaha So in one day, I managed to get to both Expat establishments that are known for their ahem drunken Aussies. By about 9pm I was feeling too seedy and headed home with the girls!
