Today was fun!
Last night I headed into Fulham and met up with Spider (Dave) and had a few drinks at his flat, which is seriously a hop, jump and slide from all the great bars, pubs and shops in Fulham!
We headed out and found this great pub called Brogans (http://www.brogansfulham.co.uk/) which I have declared the new London SES LHQ! It was a great pub, not too busy nor loud, but enough to be fun and to dance. Kel, the twins, Boards….you guys would love this! Heaps of retro random music, so you’ll get Livin’ On A Prayer then the next minute you get an Abba classic! Great atmosphere. Spides got wayyyy pissed on shots of Sambucca from this like half naked woman with a German accent…who blew a whistle everytime he downed a shot! Hahaha Fun times ;)
Afterwards we headed to a more refined pub and finished up the night there, when we got kicked out around 1am. So being so late I stayed at Spides. Not long after I’d turned out the light, Lisa (Spider’s funny az flatmate) came home and crash tackled me on the couch – drunk az! hahaha she reminds me so much of me! She’s hilarious and has such a lovely personality! So there I am under the doona on the couch, with just my knickers and a top on, and Lisa sitting next to me….I was waiting for her to take the doona off me and dance with me! I was holding it very tight over my legs! Hahaha was sooo funny!
Morning started off well and we headed to Portobello Rd Markets (in Notting Hill).......droool this place is my heaven, shopping everywhere. There wasn’t that much to the markets – apart from a great stall selling beautiful dresses and tops (def going back there!), but the shops on Portobello Rd are just amazing! Kinda like Paddington in Sydney, but 5 times better. If I could afford to live there, I would, for the rest of my time here! It’s just such a funky place, with heaps of kewl pubs.
Feeling hungry, we jumped on a bus that took us North, straight to Camden Lock Markets, known for its punk and goth scene. Really enjoyed walking around here (went here in 2005). Fantastic food that is cooked up in the stalls!! Mmmm yummy!! We would have stayed longer, but the heavens opened up and it pissed down for quite some time.
Home and I cooked a fantastic Frittata! Mmmm ;)
I am really really loving London. It feels so much like home everyday. However, I know that I’m going to have to uproot myself at the end of August, so I’m trying not to get too attached to the area/house I’m in at the moment. But regardless, I’m getting used to all the areas and where the good pubs and shops are ;) Hehehe the more important things in life, of course! But yeah, I don’t feel like a tourist anymore. I feel like I belong here. Then again, I’ve always felt that way towards London. I believe I was alive here in a past life in the 60s. Only makes sense…why else do I love the fashion and music from that time?! Hehehe
Am off to watch Notting Hill ;)
Thoughtless!
