29 Jul 2007 · Sunshine and Laptops

Right! And again I will learn my lesson of writing my blog
on my website that has no undo button, when my laptop decides to delete all the
text…..grrrr major grrrr..

So as the title explains, it’s sunny!! This weekend has been beautiful, so at the moment I’m sitting out in the backyard on a picnic rug
with my laptop, relaxing and soaking up the sunshine! My housemates are also
out here, so we’re having a mini picnic listening to a chillout session from
Clare’s iPod speakers. This is the life!

Life so far has been cruisy. Work
is good and I’m enjoying what I’m doing there. It is hectic, so relaxing like
this on weekends is necessary! However I like the non-stop work, it’s a
challenge for me to improve my shocking time management skills and to learn to
prioritise better. On Friday the other ladies left, so Monday will be Kylie and
my first day to figure out if we’ve learnt what we need to run the office! Secretly, I’m looking forward to it. I know it is full on in there sometimes,
and you are constantly having to correct other’s mistakes or chase someone up,
but at least I know I’m sorting it out. I like organising in that way.

Plus at
lunchtime, on a sunny day, there’s a gorgeous garden/park across the road with
cottage garden beds, benches and beautiful trees. It is usually packed with
people from the local businesses or nannies and their tykes running around. I
love going out there and relaxing and reading my book. May sound boring to some
people, but I love those simple pleasures in life.

My other task at the moment is to
start house hunting. Unfortunately I have to move out at the beginning of Sept, and I am really sad about it. This place has become my home and I get along so
well with everyone in it. It’s as though we’ve been friends for ever. We all
like the same things and have similar personalities. Also, having 2 bottles of
wine per night isn’t unheard of, so I don’t feel like an alcoholic when I come
home from work and have a couple of glasses of red.

This is the life I pictured
myself wanting to live whilst in London. Everything I dreamed of, imagined. I’m
learning how to cook for myself, and making sure I cook more exotic meals rather than stir fry’s or pasta dishes. Just baked a vegetable slice/frittata!
Am enjoying learning how to make meals more interesting meals. But mum, this does not mean I’m cooking when I
come home ;) hahaah However I do need to get out and socialise more, but once
the money starts coming in on a more routine basis, then I will get out and see
more of London and go on weekends away, see plays and musicals. There are at
least 8 different plays/musicals I want to see!! Need to find people who are
likewise interested and want to come with me though.

So if you’re wondering, Leigh is
good. I’m feeling so relaxed and am learning more about myself and the world
everyday. I am working towards achieving what I always wanted, in coming to
London. There are still some things that I need to work on, but seeing as it’s
only been a month, I’m not being too hard on myself.

Hope this finds everyone well and
not too cold!! At least when you have 15 degrees there you know it’s winter. We’ve
been having similar temps some days, and it bugs you to think that it’s the
middle of summer! We’re all hoping summer will come late this year. It’s slowly
looking that way.

Am really missing many of you,
but missing you knowing you would love it here. I can see so many of you
lapping up the lifestyle London has to offer. So, if you’re thinking about it, just do it. You’re only young once.

Lotsa love and kisses XXX
