Okay I'm not going to start with how long it's been since I last wrote a blog....and I'm not going to give any excuses as to why it's taken so long....
Okay well maybe a little excuse won't hurt...
You see, I moved out of East Acton on the 1st Sept and moved into my new place in Shepherds Bush (affectionately called She Bu). Since then we haven't had the Internet and I was having trouble accessing my blogs at work. So to cut a very long excuse short, we've got the net on now and here I am updating you on where I've been, what I've done (well only things that I can remember...there have been the occasional nights where the liquid drop seized my memory) and who I've met. I have had sooo much fun lately! In London, there's really something here for everyone.
Due to the diversity of cultures, there are restaurants/shops selling almost everything. I love going to the markets and picking up bargains. I like getting off the Tube somewhere and just wandering around, walking down little streets, finding cute pubs or shops with the most interesting things in them. There seems to be so much to choose from over here. Everything is at your finger tips! West End musicals, pubs, shops selling everything imaginable, Europe. The competition between businesses and making money and satisfying people, makes London an amazing place to live, as everything seems to be on offer.
At times I still miss life back home, though. I miss the ease of life that Australia has to offer. The friendliness of people, the respect many Australian's have for their country. I miss my friends, my family, my car (public transport is very boring after awhile!), being able to go to the supermarket and buy healthy/low fat groceries (hard to find here!) and mainly I miss the atmosphere in Australia. I think that might be due to the weather, or maybe the rawness of our country. It may not have the old history that England has, but there's something refreshing about that. We seem to have a bounce in our step back home (tacky sounding, I know), that doesn't seem to exist in England. It's more of a life that plods along with not much direction. Of course, these are MY feelings of only being here for 4.5mths, but that's how I see it. I'm not saying that I don't like it, but once you know something is better, it's hard reasoning yourself out of it.
Here on is Sept, Oct & Nov in a Nutshell :) MMMMmmmm cashew nuts...
Thoughtless!
