08 Nov 2007 · Autumn is upon us, and it's getting cold very fast!

September

Moved out of East Acton (Bek's room) and into my new place in She Bu. A fantastic house share with 2 other lovely girls. My room is massive, with a lovely double bed and space to swing a 50 foot man (preferably Johnny Depp). I still amaze myself at how large my room is every time I walk in, in comparison to the box I live in at Wahroonga - no offence parents!

To start with I lived with Raisa who is Finnish and Fiona who is Australian. Fi moved out a few weeks ago and another nutty Aussie/Albanian, Selvie, has moved in. We get along really well and I have very easily transitioned into domestic life. I've started to cook quite a bit, and enjoy trying out new recipes. Made a delicious batch of soups from scratch that I ate 4 nights in a row, as I had the flu - but regardless I would have eaten them anyway!

Here's September in a nutshell:

Beautiful weather pretty much everyday! Summer had arrived, just a couple of months too late!

In lots of excitement my friend Stesha arrived from Aus & we headed to Notting Hill, for the Portobello Road Markets. Most importantly, Stesh brought me a slab of Cadbury Chocolate that disappeared quite quickly.

Cass arrived - YAH!! - and we spent a crazy night in Fulham trying on all of Cass' winter clothes that had arrived by seamail and hoeing into the Tim Tams.

Cass & I headed into Richmond and spent a gorgeous day perusing the shops and taking a leisurely stroll along the Thames.

Stesh came back from Contiki and stayed with me. We headed to Camden Markets & Harrods. Then spent an amazing day with her, Dave & Cass, & Raisa, at the Thames Festival,  which celebrated the vast variety of cultures found in London. Lots of performers, stalls, lots of FOOD, everything you could imagine a festival having + more. Then at night they had this fantastic parade that went up one side of the Thames, crossed over and came down the other side. It went on for ages! So colourful, many kids dressed in costumes, a lot of reggae music - very mardi gras! And the night was topped off with the most amazing show of fireworks I've ever seen, all exploding over the Thames.

Cass & I went to a Roller Disco, with old skewl roller skates! I think I managed to fall over only once. Freaked the guy out in front of me! HA!

Rachael (friend from AGT car club) arrived in London after travelling around Europe, so we caught up for a delicious Italian dinner and a wander around the streets of London.

Went to the best restaurant of ALL time for my old housemate's birthday, Ali. Called GBK (Gourmet Burger Kitchen). For £6-7 you get these MASSIVE burgers where you can choose from so many different toppings, it nearly kills you to make a decision! Just thinking about it now makes me droooool....

However, the HIGHLIGHT of this month (well apart from Stesh, Rach & Cass arriving of course!) was the night of all nights...when Cass & I headed North in screams of delight to witness one of the best concerts of all time....GWEN STEFANI LIVE!!! OMG!!! We could not contain our excitement. I remember people staring at us in the train as we talked too fast and too loud (possibly because we downed a can of Pimms!) HAHAHA The Wembley Arena was absolutely packed!! And Gwen, of course, went off!! The energy that woman has, to bounce around stage for 3hrs is out of this world! At one point she ran into the audience and spent a good deal of her time sitting with people and singing songs! She's one of a kind. An amazing, inspirational woman. It was like all of our Christmas' HAD come at once, bcos not only did we grin for 3hrs, we then went to Maccas afterwards and had the wickedest McFlurry....cookies & cream.....Oh yeah. That night was fantastic!

Thoughtless!
